Journey between heaven and earth 2017

Journey between Heaven and Earth, which will take place on June 10 and 11, is the unique MTB and running competition in Romania and perhaps even in the world. For 2017, a prize fund of over 3,000 euros is announced. The organizers of this event – the Romanian Salt Society, Târgu Ocna City Hall and the Transalpin Bike Association, offer competitors four categories of registration, male and female, MTB and running. The biggest prizes are awarded to the Elite categories. In addition, the Special prize worth 1,000 lei is awarded to competitors who participate in both days of the competition and who win first place in both events.
Journey between Heaven and Earth is unique because the competition routes – MTB and running, also take place underground. After the start, the competitors enter the tunnels of the Trotuș salt mine and descend “underground” to over 200 m depth. Here everything takes place by the light of headlights, just like in the days of the convicts. After climbing back to the surface, the route continues in the natural landscape and crosses everything that nature has to offer: paths, forest roads, crosses hills and forests.
Finally, when the competitors return to the city, the route also passes through the Târgu Ocna City Hall building. While on Sunday the cyclists travel through the corridors of the institution, at speed on their bicycles, on Saturday the runners will even go upstairs, then descend the steps and cross the finish line located on the stage in the Central Square.
On Saturday, June 10, the trail run competition takes place where competitors can sign up for the 5 km cross race or the 21 km half marathon. On Sunday, June 11, the MTB cross country cycling competition takes place where competitors can sign up for the 15 km route that will be covered as many times as possible in the allotted two hours.
