Close the summer - second edition

A year and about 4 months ago, some guys from Timisoara, very passionate about this sport, having no place to go and develop, thought of building a dirt park with their own forces. Thus was born West Bike Park, a dirt park with several lines and trails, starting from ramps without gaps, on which anyone can learn to keep their balance on a bike, to trails with 5-meter gaps, for the most experienced, and even a pump track on which anyone can warm up before moving on to hardcore. The entire dirt park was built with a shovel, the earth carried in buckets. It was hellish and very hard work, always working 4.5 people at best. However, after the work, the reward was seen, now Timisoara has a place where riders can train and develop just like in other big cities in the country. We had no support from the city hall, all The tools and other materials were purchased with the money of the riders who worked hard to have a venue that was as complex as possible, with all kinds of elements.

After a few months of work, the riders came up with an idea: to organize a contest for the inauguration of the dirtpark. The contest took place on September 15, 2014 and was sponsored by Atelier Stroescu, BikeDistrict, H2O Shop and Skullcandy.
With the help of these sponsors, we managed to organize the contest, offer considerable prizes to the riders and build new elements. Being the first edition, the number of riders was quite small, with local riders from Timisoara, but also riders from Oradea, Lugoj and Arad being present at the contest.

This year, on August 29th, we want to organize the 2nd edition of the contest, namely Close the Summer, and we expect a large number of riders.
The official sponsors so far are Atelierele Stroescu, BikeDistrict and the local rider team West Team. The prizes will be considerable, and the fun will be maximum.

The competition route will consist of 3 trails with gaps starting from 3 meters to a gap of 5 meters, the height of the trails being from 1.8 meters to 2 meters, a quarter pipe, a spine, a minitrail and a corner with both right and left exits.
