Geiger mtb challenge 2015
Description
After the stages in Avrig and Păltiniș, the last stage of the MTB Triad 2015 is scheduled to take place in Sibiu on Sunday. The “Geiger MTB Challenge” is in its 8th edition and remains one of the most important and appreciated events of its kind in Romania. Approximately 350 competitors, both professional and amateur, are expected at the start.
"Geiger MTB Challenge" proposes 3 routes this year:
Route A/Lung – 93 kilometers with a difference in elevation of 3,500 meters, with the highest point on Oncești peak, a route that 50-60 of the most experienced riders will venture on.
Route B/Short – 50 kilometers with a difference in elevation of 1350 meters where most of the 350 competitors will participate. The route reaches the peak of Măgura.
Route C/Beginners – 23 kilometers with a difference in elevation of 300 meters, a route intended for those who are just starting to flirt with this sport and who can have their first contact with a competition of this kind.
The competition routes within the MTB Triad are developed in collaboration with experienced mountain bike athletes, participants in countless international competitions, but also in collaboration with local organizations with rich knowledge of the area's routes.
On Saturday afternoon, competitions for children between 4 and 14 years old will be organized, by age category.
