Cheia MTB Challenge is a Cross Country competition, now in its third edition, organized by the Zăganul Community Development Association in the Cheia resort in Prahova County.
Cheia MTB Challenge has three circuit-type routes for registered and amateur athletes, with the start and finish at the entrance to the Cheia resort, in the Câmpul Ardelii area.
Brave cyclists can participate in the ultramarathon, which has a total of 112 km and will be held in two stages, on different days.
The competition also includes a MTB marathon route, with a length of 56 km and a difference in altitude of almost 1390 meters. The highest point of the route is located near Vârful Crai at an altitude of 1472 m.
Running the ultramarathon and marathon routes offers unforgettable experiences, with challenging climbs, rest areas where you can admire the fairy-tale landscapes of the Tatar Mountains, where in ancient times the Roman legions advanced into Dacia, the Tatars invaded Transylvania or Michael the Brave crossed the mountains with his troops to achieve the first Union.
The Cheia MTB Challenge also awaits you on a half-marathon route. The route is almost 29 km long and has a difference in elevation of 710 meters.
Starting with this year's edition, children between the ages of 3 and 14 can participate in races specially arranged according to their age.
