Categories
The competition categories will be the following:
Route 1 Race - increased difficulty
Female - Male – 18 – 25 years old
Female - Male – 26 – 35 years old
Female - Male – over 36
Route 2 Hobby - medium/high difficulty
Female - Male – 14 – 17 years old
Female - Male – 18 – 35 years old
Female - Male – over 36
Route 3 Family – 17 km - low to medium difficulty
One adult and maximum 3 children – 8 - 13 years old
Route 4 Children - Female – Male – 5 – 7 years old
The MANDATORY condition for forming a group for the award is that the number of participants in the group / route / gender must be at least 6 (six) people. Competitors who do not form a group for the award will be automatically assigned to the immediately superior group based on age.
The minimum age allowed for participation in route 1 – Race is 18 years old.
The minimum age allowed for participation in route 2 – Hobby is 14 years old.
The minimum age allowed for participation in route 3 – Family is 8 years old.
The minimum age allowed for participation in route 4 – Children is 5 years old.
Note:
The age category is determined based on the competitor's age in JUNE 2014.
Conditions of participation
The competition is open to any lover of sports and outdoor activities.
The following are required: good health, a minimum level of training, a certain amount of technical knowledge specific to MTB tours, and a minimum age of 18 years.
Persons under 18 years of age must have the written consent of a parent (guardian). Minors 14-17 years of age will download the parental responsibility declaration and will present a completed and signed copy, or will be accompanied by a parent to register. Minors 5-13 years of age will be accompanied by one of the parents (guardian) to register.
Participants assume full responsibility for their health. Every registered participant will have a competition number. Every participant must respect the competition rules and must follow the instructions given by the organizers.

- Until Friday 04.07.2014 at the Iulia Bookstore in Hunedoara, Bv. Dacia No. 6 B Block 5 ground floor Sanitas between 9:00-20:00 and at the SportXTeam Deva Bicycle Store Str. M.Eminescu 82 between 9:00 - 19:00
- By phone at: 0730 198500 and payment by bank transfer to the account of the Association Discover Rusca – RO98BTRL06301205P08443XX BANCA TRANSILVANIA SA HUNEDOARA BRANCH of the registration fee until 03.07.2014 at 12:00.
- Saturday 05.07.2014 – Panorama Ghelar Guesthouse between 12:00-18:00
- Sunday 06.07.2014 – Panoram Ghelar Pension between 8:00-10:30
The Declaration of Responsibility and/or the Tutor's Declaration must be submitted, signed in original by each participant on the day of registration.
Registration fee
The registration fee for Discover Rusca - Panorama Bike Tour 2014 is:
15 LEI / person / family - if paid by July 4, 2014,
15 LEI / person / family - if paid on July 5, 2014 at Ghelar.
25 LEI /person/family – if paid on July 6, 2014
The last day of payment for early registrations will be July 5, 2014.
The registration fee includes: competition number, participation diploma, assistance on the route; water, fruit and energy foods, medical assistance, service assistance at the Supply Points; participation in the surprise party on July 5, 2014 and viewing of photos after the premiere, free accommodation in Camping Panorama, free use of the Panorama Pool, other surprises. We also provide assistance for accommodation in the area.
cancellation
If the event is canceled due to force majeure, participants will not benefit from a refund of the registration fee nor compensation for other losses, such as travel and accommodation expenses.
Responsibility
Each participant taking part in the Discover Rusca - Panorama Bike Tour 2014 is responsible for their own safety and security. The organizers, partners, sponsors, volunteers and staff participating in the event are not responsible for any injuries or damages, cancellations, delays or route changes that may occur during the event.
Each participant must sign, before registering, a Declaration on their own responsibility or a Guardian Declaration (for minors), by which they assume the risks resulting from participating in such an event and any damages incurred for any reason, including loss or theft.
Regulations
All these rules apply to the Discover Rusca - Panorama Bike Tour 2014 mountain bike race on 06.07.2014 and to the actions carried out on 05.07.2014
The organizers reserve the right to modify any article or aspect of this contest, depending on logical needs concluded at any time.
Competition characteristics
The event is an outdoor competition. The routes will be both landscaped and undeveloped/unprotected, using public roads and forest roads.
Different segments of the trails pass through settlements, forested areas and river crossings. All of this requires experience and special knowledge, such as:
• any participant should have at least some general experience about the mountain;
• any participant must have technical knowledge about approaching a difficult route;
• any participant must be able to safely climb and descend a steep slope in difficult conditions;
• any participant must have the ability to safely travel a route in an alpine area;
• every participant should have a sense of orientation in mountainous terrain, even in bad weather and low visibility. This means that every participant should be able to use a map and route information to reach the finish line safely;
• any participant must know the traffic rules on public roads;
• any participant must know the rules of behavior in case of danger and emergency in the mountain area;
• any participant must demonstrate fair play and friendship, acting accordingly when the situation requires it;
• any participant must know and have an attitude that takes into account the fact that no matter how many safety measures the organizers take, not all risks resulting from the nature of the competition, the environment and the conditions in which it takes place will be covered;
• any participant must know that no prize is above his or her health and life and/or that of other participants and must act accordingly to protect themselves when they feel or observe danger.
Mandatory equipment
• bicycle in good working condition, (preferably specially equipped for competitions)
• protective helmet
• number (provided by the organizers) .
• lighting system for the Race category
The lack of these items - mandatory to be worn during the competition, start, finish, intermediate points - leads to disqualification.
Optional-recommended equipment:
• Complete patch kit (patches, glue, sandpaper, levers)
• Spare room
• Pump
• Multifunctional tools for urgent repairs: tightening screws, adjustments, chain clamping, etc.
• 1-2 Bottles of liquid for personal hydration
• Sunglasses/cycling protection
Contest numbers
Contest numbers will be received upon validation of the registration, after the participant has completed and signed the registration form, the declaration on his/her own responsibility / declaration of the parent (guardian) and paid the registration fee.
The competition numbers must be fixed on the bicycle in a visible place throughout the race. The numbers must not be cut or modified in any way during the competition. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
Validation / Briefing / Start
Validation of entries will take place the day before the competition between 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM and in the morning on the day of the competition between 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM.
The technical meeting will take place in the morning, before the race, starting at 10:30.
The start will be staggered, depending on the category:
11:00 – Start of the "Race" route
11.10 - Start of the "Hobby" route
11:15 – Start of the "Family" route
11:20 – Start of the "Children" Route
Checkpoints
Mandatory checkpoints are located on the routes. Participants who do not pass a checkpoint (regardless of the reason) will be disqualified.
Stopping / Withdrawing from the race
The organizer reserves the right to stop a participant in the following cases:
• he was injured after the start, and his condition no longer allows him to continue the race;
• in exceptional cases
• if it is noticed that the participant does not comply with one of the conditions of this competition, or those of common sense and fair play
Any participant who is unable or unwilling to continue the race, for whatever reason, must inform the organizers immediately, at the start, at the checkpoints or at the finish. Failure to announce withdrawal from the race will result in a search and rescue operation (rescue teams, mountain rescue), at the expense of the participant involved.
Withdrawal will be confirmed by signature on the referee sheet. Any participant who withdraws will be assisted in the best possible withdrawal option, but is responsible for their own transportation, the route they will use and the actions following the time and place of withdrawal, except in serious cases that do not allow travel by their own means.
Rankings/Awards
The rankings will be drawn up by age and gender categories in order of arrival. Prizes in event-specific items will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category. All participants who finish the race will receive a participation certificate.
Nature conservation
Leaving trash along the routes and/or deliberately destroying the environment will result in disqualification.
Supporters / Help
Supporters may support any competitor provided that they comply with the rules of conduct, the instructions of the authorities and/or officials and do not impede the conduct of the competition. No outside help (supporter, spectator, etc.) is allowed along the routes, with the exception of special cases and help provided at the arranged refueling points, where competitors, in addition to the drinks, fruits and energy foods offered by the organizers, can also receive other food and liquids.
Image
• The organizers of Discover Rusca - Panorama Bike Tour 2014 have image rights to the entire event.
• Organizers may use photo and video images in various communication materials created during the competition, both during the event and during the start and finish/premiere phases.
• By registering for the contest, participants declare that they agree to the processing of personal data by the organizers, and participation in the Discover Rusca - Panorama Bike Tour 2014 contest implies the participants' acceptance and consent that their personal data be stored and processed by the organizers for the purpose of conducting the contest and only for the purpose of designating the winners.
Force majeure
Force majeure means any event that could have a significant influence on the smooth running of the competition, such as: floods, storms, natural disasters or major socio-political events.
• In case of force majeure, the organizers may decide to modify the route or program. At the limit, it may even be decided to cancel the race, in exceptional situations.
• In case of withdrawal from the race or force majeure, the participation fee will not be refunded.
Other rules
Discover Rusca - Panorama Bike Tour 2014 uses public roads, both landscaped and unlandscaped, as competition routes, which pass through towns, meadows, forests, and cross rivers.
The competition routes are not closed to other traffic participants (motor vehicles, vehicles, pedestrians, tourists, animals and others). This fact imposes on the participants the obligation to respect the traffic rules imposed by law. Any accident caused and/or in which participants of the Panorama Bike Tour 2014 were involved, occurring during its development, due to non-compliance with the competition rules and the traffic rules imposed by law will be the responsibility of those involved in the accident. The competition takes place in a mountain area, in an undeveloped and unprotected space, therefore there is a risk of injury and/or death from dangers common to outdoor competitions. These include and are not limited to: collisions with motor vehicles, other vehicles, stones, rocks, trees, people, other objects, falls, slips, injuries caused by cold and/or heat, hypothermia, sunstroke, dehydration, frostbite, burns, altitude sickness, rockfalls, storms, animals, fires, physical exertion.
Penalties
• missing an item from the mandatory equipment - disqualification;
• shortening the route - penalty or disqualification (final decision of the referee/organizers);
• failure to respect the environment - disqualification (final decision of the referee/organizers);
• changing the competition number - disqualification (final decision of the referee/organizers);
• failure to comply with the competition rules - penalty or disqualification (final decision of the referee/organizers);
• unsportsmanlike behavior towards other participants, officials, the public, other persons - disqualification (final decision of the referee/organizers).
The participation fee will not be refunded in the event of disqualification.
Complaints
Any participant may file a complaint against another participant who has not respected the competition rules or against the decisions of the officials. The complaint shall be submitted to the organizer, in writing, no later than 30 minutes after the competitor's arrival. Complaints regarding the rankings shall be submitted to the organizer no later than 30 minutes after their display.
IMPORTANT:
By registering, paying and participating, each participant confirms that they have read, understood and accepted the conditions of participation and these rules, assume the risks of participating in the Discover Rusca - Panorama Bike Tour 2014 and are responsible for their own actions which should take into account relevant circumstances such as: traffic, weather conditions, weather changes, the area they are in, equipment.
amendments
The organizing team reserves the right to change in detail any rules, articles, actions and modalities of the competition. These possible changes will be published through all available means and will be displayed on the date of the competition.
