On green wheels 2015

The Cycling and Ecology Club IașiBike invites you on June 20, 2015 to carry your passion ON GREEN WHEELS! You will escape for a few hours from the city and time, pedaling on fairy-tale paths sprinkled with smiles and friends. The 15th edition of the longest-running MTB competition on the hills of Iași welcomes you with the excitement and thrill of the start, with the adrenaline and the struggles of self-surpassment. After the tensions and Golgotha, the split second of eternity of the finish awaits you, where we will stabilize your pulse with a cold beer and a portion of pasta! Since the first edition, the Pe Roți Verzi competition has aimed to promote movement, harmonious development, the realization of the need for self-surpassment, the competitive spirit and fair play. At the same time, our club advocates for the promotion of the use of bicycles for utilitarian and recreational purposes, with beneficial effects for both humans and the environment: it is a convenient means of transportation, fast enough, accessible to almost everyone. Cycling maintains physical fitness, combats sedentary lifestyle and contributes to maintaining health.

The PRV route is one of the most famous in the vicinity of Iași, with a history of 15 editions. In order to avoid covering a very short loop too many times, this year it was decided to extend the route to 12 km. The final route includes the classic PRV descent. The Elite category is invited to compete over a distance of 4 laps (48 km), the Race category over a distance of 2 laps (24 km) and the Hobby category will cover a single lap (12 km).

Wanting to offer everyone the opportunity to enjoy the fairytale landscape of the Bârnova forest, for this edition we have established a new competition category: HOBBY – beginners. Those registered in this category will have the opportunity to experience the entire 12 km loop, but will only complete it once. This category aims to encourage participation in MTB competitions for the simple joy of movement in nature and will be OPEN to both men and women.
