Surmont mtb challenge 2014

Surmont Club invites you on July 5 and 6, 2014 to Azuga, for the 5th edition of the Surmont MTB Challenge, a marathon competition dedicated to all mountain bikers who love wild nature, from enthusiastic amateurs to seasoned and experienced competitors.
The competition routes have progressive degrees of difficulty, starting on the forest roads in the idyllic Azuga Valley, continuing on the forest and alpine trails of the Baiului Mountains. The wide and smooth portions are intertwined with technical sections, steep climbs and descents, with a large difference in level.

For the competition day on Sunday, July 6, we again have three routes of different difficulty and several competition categories, so that everyone can feel at ease during this confrontation.

We also have the usual special stages prepared on the long route, "King Of The Hill", the trophy for the best climber and "Speed Master", the distinction for the fastest descender. This time we will have separate registrations for competitors who want to participate in the special stages and we will distribute additional, special chips for timing these sections.

On Saturday, July 5, competitors and the public are invited to "Trek Fest 2014", with technical workshops and test sessions of bikes from the Trek MTB 2014 collection, and in the evening they are invited to a campfire and a journey into the past with film screenings from the archive of Surmont events, the longest-running mountain bike club in Romania. Surmont Mountainbike Challenge 2014 is an event organized in partnership with the Azuga City Hall, supported by Surmont Sport, the Trek Bicycle Co. representative in Romania, and celebrates 20 years since the first mountainbike competition in Romania, organized by Surmont Club in 1994, in Sibiu. We look forward to welcoming you to Azuga, in the heart of nature, where mountainbiking is HOME!
