Wine marathon 2015

Now in its fifth edition, the Wine Marathon is a charity MTB competition that takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2015 in the town of Urlaţi in Prahova County, among the hills, vineyards and wineries in the area. The start will be at 10 am.

The race is of the XCO type and consists of several laps of approx. 18 km. In addition to the two competitive routes of 36km (2 laps) and 54km (3 laps), as in last year's edition, this year participants can also opt for a third option: a single lap of 18km, without timing and without podium, recommended for less experienced cyclists.

Cycling is a sport for the whole family, so there is also a separate, easier 10 km tour, without a participation fee, accessible to everyone: children, parents or grandparents.

Since its first year, the Wine Marathon has wanted to combine the promotion of cycling as a healthy and ecological lifestyle with charity, donating the profit obtained from the event to local charities.

Participation fee:
1 lap (18 km), without timing – 50 lei (single fee)
2 laps (36 km) and 3 laps (54 km), with timing – 60 lei until May 18 and 80 lei starting with May 18

The race is of the XCO type and consists of several laps of approx. 18 km with a difference in level of over 400 meters.

Participants can choose between the following options:

1 lap (18km) – amateurs, without timing, recommended for beginners
2 laps (36km) – amateurs, with timing, intermediate level
3 laps (54km) – amateurs, with timing, advanced level
3 laps (54km) – elites, with timing, for FRC-licensed cyclists

2 laps (36 km) – amateurs: M 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+ and F 14-29, 30+
3 laps (54 km) – amateurs: M 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+ and F Open

The minimum age for participation is 14 years. Participants between the ages of 14 and 17 on the date of the competition can only participate in the 18 km (1 lap) or 36 km (2 laps) route and only with the written consent of their parents or guardians.
